Irina arrived to Australia in 1993, and after having a music background decided that her future was in law. She completed a double degree and now has 14 years experience in building and construction law, both in residential and commercial areas. Irina is involved in the Housing Industry Association and is Vice Chair of the Legal Services Committee therefore she has the insights of the latest developments in legislation relating to the domestic building industry. Irina has acted on behalf of builders and owners, so she understands the issues relating to the construction of a house from the owner's perspective as well as the builder's position.
Connected to the building and construction area of law is the Building and Constructions Security of Payments Act (Vic) 2002, and Irina has a keen interest in the mechanics of this legislation.
Irina also practices in the area of general commercial law.
Outside of law Irina enjoys going to the gym with her teenage son, attending pilates classes with her daughters, going to classical music performances and reading. She is involved in the running of her son's football club.
Irina is hoping to be able to participate in a power lifting competition soon.
