Murray is a Consultant to the firm practising in the areas of business and property law. He graduated from Melbourne University in 1965 and has practised in Melbourne, firstly as the founding partner in a small firm and subsequently as a Partner in a large city practice. He is a member of The Law Institute of Victoria's Commercial Law & Property sections.

Murray has held a number of directorships, including Chairman of ASX Listed OFM Investment Group Limited, and national sports administration roles including President of Gymnastics Australia. His other interests include rotary and rural issues associated with farming activities at Toolern Vale.
