John is a general practitioner with over 40 years' experience. Prior to joining Hicks Oakley Chessell Williams John was the principal of his own legal firm which evolved out of a partnership dating from the late 1970s.
Throughout his career John has always placed clients' interests at the forefront. He regards the practice of law as an opportunity to foster long-term partnerships with his client base.
John's broad practice has had particular emphasis on commercial and property law matters, including property transactions, leases, owners corporation issues, wills and estate planning, deceased estates including general administration and disputes and domestic building disputes
John has been a University tutor in succession law and administration of deceased estates.
As an Accredited Mediator and Graded Arbitrator John is committed to alternate dispute resolution.
Away from legal practice his other interests include family, football and racing. He has a long history of community service as President and board member of elite sporting Clubs. He is a VFL life member.
