Matthew Hicks is very experienced in commercial litigation, debt recovery and insolvency law. He is a Director & Principal Lawyer at HOCW Lawyers.

He has previously been managing partner of boutique litigation law firms in Melbourne and joined the predecessor firm of Hicks Oakley Chessell Williams in October 2002 where he was made a Principal in February 2003.

Matthew attends all courts and tribunals for pre-hearing conferences, directions hearings and mediations and is a skilled negotiator. He welcomes the opportunity to give presentations on all aspects of court procedures and the litigation process. He believes in systems and strategy for the conduct of litigation and will discuss steps that can be taken to ensure that the cost of litigation does not become disproportionate to the amount in dispute.
