With over 25 years of legal experience, Sarah Lindsey is a Director and Principal Lawyer at Hicks Oakley Chessell Williams and a leading Melbourne property lawyer and conveyancer specialising in commercial and residential transactions.

Sarah provides comprehensive legal support for property matters across Victoria, with a particular focus on commercial and residential conveyancing, subdivisions, and complex leasing arrangements. Based in our Melbourne and Mount Waverley offices, she acts for developers, business owners, and private clients.

Since becoming a Principal Lawyer in 2011, Sarah has led the property team with a focus on strategic risk management and efficient transaction processing. Her expertise includes off-the-plan sales, retirement village contracts, and related-party transfers.

Sarah is known for her meticulous attention to detail and her ability to navigate the complexities of the Transfer of Land Act and Victorian State Revenue Office requirements. She works closely with clients to ensure their property interests are protected, providing clear communication and practical solutions for every stage of the property lifecycle.

About Sarah

Sarah commenced her legal career in 1989 as a lawyer and then took up a position as a County Court Judge's Associate before becoming a Barrister at the Victorian Bar in 1990.

After leaving the Bar in 1994 Sarah worked as a solicitor and was involved in the management of a busy commercial and property law practice in Melbourne's CBD before eventually establishing her own practice in 2005.

Sarah joined Hicks Oakley Chessell Williams in 2008 bringing with her a wealth of experience in substantial property matters and private client advisory work. Sarah was appointed as a Principal Lawyer in 2015.
