Ali was admitted to practice in March 2008 and has practised mainly in the areas of Commercial Litigation, Insolvency and Debt Recovery. 

Ali is a results orientated senior lawyer who thrives on providing high quality and commercially relevant advice to enforce or preserve his clients' rights through the litigation process or alternatively, to achieve negotiated outcomes in lieu of litigation. Ali regularly acts for insolvency practitioners in various post-insolvency related litigation and recovery matters.
